Since the summer of 2008, Charlie has hosted State College’s only monthly jazz jam session. Thanks to the fine folk at Sozo, the sessions have been a comfortable, relaxed environment for musicians of all ages to learn more about jazz.
Charlie’s Jazz Jam has hosted a number of fantastic musicians and groups, including Greg Johnson, Ronnie Burrage, and The State College Area High School Jazz Band. Working with guest artists and talent house musicians, Charlie has been able to teach, play, and learn more about jazz theory, form, and performance practice.
