Charlie Heim graduated from The University of the Arts in 2008 with a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Jazz Performance, and a minor in Music Education. After graduate study in Music Education, he returned to Philadelphia to pursue a career in performance and teaching. Currently he is performing with William Gruff, Johnny Showcase and the Mystic Ticket, the Alex Radus Trio, Megalodon, and many others throughout the Philly area. He has credits on a growing discography of nearly 20 original albums, and has had his compositions published independently and by Holiday House. As an educator, Charlie is a Senior Lecturer at the University of the Arts, served for 3 years as Music Director of the School of Rock in Cherry Hill, and continues freelance private instruction on Drums, Percussion, Guitar and Saxophone.
I've worked on both sides of the control room as drummer and recording engineer/producer at dozens of top-flight studios and my own home studio. Original bands, film scores, musical theater, singer-songwriters, and much more.
