Got a question about Music Lessons? Check below for answers to some common ones, or feel free to ask me directly!
Q: Do you teach beginners?
A: Absolutely! I am comfortable and experienced teaching drum set, percussion, guitar, bass, ukulele, piano and saxophone to musical newcomers of all ages.
Q: I don't own any drums yet. Where will the lessons take place?
A: If you are seeking lessons at a studio location other than your home, please check out The Green Tambourine. I maintain studio hours there for much of the week, and we offer flexible and inclusive lesson packages.
Q: I have a drum set at my home. Can you come to me?
A: If you live within the Philadelphia/South Jersey area, most definitely! I think it's important that a student gets ample time with their own instrument, and learns all of its potential.
Q: What are your rates?
A: Lessons are $30 per half-hour and $50 per hour. In-home lessons may add a small additional fee to cover travel if you live outside of metro Philadelphia.
Q: What will we learn?
A: There's an incredible amount of diversity in today's musical world, and I'm inspired by all of it. We can cover playing authentically in genres like rock, funk, jazz, folk, dance, hip-hop, country, dance, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music. We can work on reading and notating music. Or elucidate the science of the art form through composition and music theory study. Whatever your passion, I'll help you develop it. Drop me a line and be sure to mention the music that moves you!
Q: How 'bout scheduling? My life is pretty hectic...
A: We've all got a ton of things going on, and learning an instrument shouldn't add to the stress. While I suggest finding a weekly time that works for both of us, I am very flexible and will do my best to accommodate your busy schedule.
Q: How can I pay for lessons?
A: I accept cash or check, and can accept credit cards through this website. Visit the Store and purchase lesson reservations for yourself, or as a gift!
